The event, “Cyber Safety and Social Media — What Today’s Digital Citizen Needs to Know,” will be held on Dec. 13, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Thomas A. Bruder, Jr. Life Center at Neumann University in Aston Township, Delaware County.
It is free for the public. An administrative fee will be charged for attorneys and educators seeking CLE or Act 48 credits. Online registration is available.
The seminar, which is aimed at both professionals and parents, will discuss the impact of social media and how to prevent abuses such as threats from bullies, scam artists, overbearing marketers, and sexual predators.
Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan and Deputy District Attorney Michael Galantino are two of the featured speakers along with Paul Sanfrancesco, director of technology for the Owen J. Roberts School District; and Nancy Caramanico, an educational technology specialist.
