Anzio Williams is Vice President of News for both NBC10 and Telemundo62. He joined NBC10 in July of 2012 and has been news director since the duopoly was formed in 2012.
Prior to coming to NBC10 and Telemundo62, Anzio worked with Hearst Television for 12 years in the News Director role at stations in Sacramento, California, and New Orleans, Louisiana. He also served as Assistant News Director at NBC stations in Orlando, Florida, and Charlotte, North Carolina.
Anzio has a distinguished record of accomplishments as a news manager. Most notably, it was during his tenure at WDSU that Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. Knowing it was a critical time to keep the community informed, the station aggressively covered the storm and its aftermath while keeping the newsroom staff on track through the most difficult circumstances. He is the recipient of four Emmy Awards for Outstanding Achievement, Best Newscasts, Breaking News and Continuing Coverage. He was also a member of the news teams celebrated with the Edward R. Murrow and George Foster Peabody Awards.
A native of Durham, North Carolina, Anzio graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast News. He started his career as a producer of sports and news in Greensboro, North Carolina, which took him to Miami, Florida. He was an executive producer overseeing newscasts and special sports programming during his time in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Anzio currently serves on two boards in the Philadelphia area including the American Diabetes Association and the Urban League of Philadelphia. He is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
